Background
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 1-beta (HNF-1B) is a transcription factor which binds to specific regions of nucleic acid. HNF-1B, which plays critical roles in the regulation of glucose transport and metabolism, glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, and also in the embryonic development and later function of the pancreas, kidneys, genitourinary tract, liver, and the biliary tree.
